Headlining is JazzUp founder Dave Keech’s very own band, Close To The Bone. The band
features The Specials drummer Kenrick Rowe. Fresh from Specials tours of Canada and USA, and
riding high on the stunning success of their new album ‘Encore’, to which he contributed so much,
Kenrick is a musician not to be missed. Expect jazz classics and originals fused with funk, soul and
reggae.

The Hammond organ has featured at several packed Club85 nights recently, with the likes of
James Taylor and Nikolaj Torp Larsen showing how the instrument is still king of the groove.
Local Hammond legend Russell Williams also features on this JazzUp bill, with a special trio
featuring tenor sax monster, Colin Watling.

The night would not be complete with out our much talked-about collective, The Young Jazz Guns.
With all band members below the age of 20, the Guns show that jazz is, well, where it should be:
young, fresh, inclusive and on the pulse.

You’ll also be aware that on this night, Hitchin’s very own Rhythms Of The World fills the town with
its presence. The ROTW after party takes place at Club85, hosted by JazzUp and from 11pm Les
Jazz Rats DJs get the party on. Joining them on the decks will be another local DJ; Riot Lounge
owner and Herts FM presenter Jess Princeton, AKA Riot Girl.

Peterborough and London and we are just a 5 minute stroll from the station.
