Following his move to the UK in 2012, Marco reformed the Marco Marconi Trio, a project that he had left behind in Italy. This UK based Trio toured the UK in October 2013, playing at top jazz venues including The Stables, Stratford Jazz, Parr Jazz & Soundcellar and getting some great reviews along the way. Following the tour, the trio headed off to the Fazioli Concert Hall near Venice in Italy where they recorded a new album, Nordik, which was released on the 33Jazz label in early 2014 at Pizza Express Dean Street to excellent reviews. In 2015, the Trio reformed again, this time with two inspirational artists, Tom Farmer, double bass and Emiliano Caroselli, drums, to continue the Trio project, releasing their latest outstanding album Trialogue on the 33Jazz label in July 2017 at the 606 Club in London. The album received rave reviews including one by Sammy Stein for Jazz in Europe: “Marco Marconi is a pianist whose music expresses influences and deliberate nods to many genres, from classical to jazz to pop with many in between categories known only to Marco and this, from the start gains him points because the appeal of this extraordinary player is broad”. In November 2017, the Trio accompanied Mark Wade, named as 1 of the top 10 bass players in the world by DownBeat, in a mini European tour, playing in Belgium and the famous Sunset club in Paris. The Trio play regularly at the 606 Club, Pizza Express & The Vortex among other legendary UK jazz venues.
