Celeste performs Brazilian Jazz with Marco Marconi on piano

Fast establishing herself as one to watch, Celeste recently recorded her first album in Italy, which won her a number of excellent reviews, as well as a busy agenda of performances, both in Italy and the UK. She makes her debut appearance at The Pheasantry with a performance which showcases a mix of Bossa classics, with songs composed by great names like Tom Jobim, Vinicius de Moraes, João Gilberto and Caetano Veloso and inspired by muses of the like of Elis Regina, Maria Bethania and Marisa Monte. Join Celeste in a whirlwind of Brazilian-inspired rhythms, as you get to explore the seducing complexities of Jobim’s and de Moraes’ compositions, and to glide through Caetano Veloso’s mind-blowing lyrics. Muse on Elis Regina’s sweet cheekiness, and daydream at the elegant smoothness of Maria Bethania’s and Marisa Monte’s music. The show includes some original songs and special guests, including the inimitable Earl Okin, and London based jazz singer Viviana Zarbo.
